Creatures of the wild bedazzle

Nature in its most beautiful form is captured in Boucheron's latest horological creations, whether it is the swan or the elephant.

The Cypris Tourbillon with three gold bridges, and white or black plumage, sees the swan take centre stage. Cypris, the Cypriot name for the Greek goddess Aphrodite, is enamoured with the swan, which she uses as her chariot. With the swan's neck wrapped around the case, the watch is a celebration of the union of Cypris and the mythical creature.

At the heart of the Cypris Tourbillon with three gold bridges and white plumage is the Manufacture Tourbillon with a movement from Girard-Perregaux. This mechanical movement with manual winding displays the second, minute and hour on the tourbillon and is equipped with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour,

a power reserve of 72 hours and is water-resistant up to 30 metres. Equipped with an 18ct white gold bracelet set with 715 round diamonds and 131 blue sapphires, the watch features a 31.30x36.20mm, 18ct white gold case set with 52 white diamonds on the bezel.

Awarded the Ladies' Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve 2011, the Crazy Jungle Hathi collection, created last year, has two new versions this year - purple and diamond.

With its nose defiantly pointing upwards, the elephant adorning the purple version is an exuberant one. Its blanket adds a dash of exoticism. Beating away inside the timepiece is the GP4000 Girard-Perregaux Manufacture calibre. This self-winding mechanical movement has hours and minutes functions and a Crazy Seconds module. Housed in a 42mm, 18ct white gold case set with

43 diamonds, 13 pink sapphires and 11 amethysts that is water-resistant up to 50 metres, the watch has a purple karung strap. The dial is set with 309 stones and features hours and minutes hands in polished steel.

Equipped with a flying tourbillon is the Hibiscus Tourbillon, which is set with 291 stones. This self-winding mechanical movement has a power reserve of 100 hours. Contained in a 42mm diameter round case in white gold, the watch features a white mother-of-pearl dial.

Featuring a chameleon made from multicoloured stones, the Ajouree Chameleon reflects the versatility of the wild creature. With an open-worked jewellery composition comprising 117 sapphires, 104 tsavorites, 100 diamonds and a single ruby, the watch is armed with a quartz movement housed in an 18mm, 18ct white gold and diamond case. The movement has hour and minute functions with a push button. The dial is made of iridescent lacquer and features the anthracite Boucheron logo at 12 o'clock.

Other members of Boucheron's Ajouree family are the Ajouree Frog, featuring the lotus flower and the frog, and the Ajouree Volute.
