Legendary New York hair stylist Frederic Fekkai was in town last week for the launch of his hair care line at Joyce Beauty. He hosted a series of events, starting with a meeting with VIP fans aboard the Aqua Luna junk, followed by lunch at The Apex with his local muses, ballerina Faye Leung and theatre actress Kearen Pang.

More than 200 guests turned up last Thursday evening to party with Fekkai at The Apex, where a pop-up hair salon had been set up. Facets of Beauty, an exhibition of images of Leung and Pang taken by photographer Wing Shya, opened next day at Joyce Beauty in Central.

On Saturday, Fekkai took a helicopter ride with socialite Gigi Chao to get the best views of the skyline and outlying islands. He later headed to the Liberatum party at Kee Club, and was joined by celebrities such as Daniel Wu Yin-cho, Gigi Leung Wing-kei, and supermodels Janet Ma Sze-wai and Lynn Xiong Dailin.

A gala dinner, co-hosted by Italian fashion brand Salvatore Ferragamo and Kee Club, was attended by a number of celebrities who had been taking part in the Liberatum cultural festival, among them US filmmaker Paul Schrader, Nobel literature laureate V.S. Naipaul and Vogue editor Angelica Cheung. Spanish actress and singer Rossy de Palma wowed guests with an after-dinner performance.
