Songs from the heart

Name: Greyson Michael Chance Born: Texas, United States Zodiac: Leo (August 16, 1997) Chinese zodiac: Goat Studio albums: Hold On 'til the Night (2011)

This is my ... first time in Hong Kong, second time in Asia.

In Hong Kong ... everybody has somewhere to go, and if you get in their way, they're going to be really mean to you.

Hong Kong fans are ... very respectful. They really take in every part of the show. It's nice for me when I put on a show to see the fans paying attention and taking it all in.

I started to love music ... at a very young age. I'd listen to old Michael Jackson records and I wanted to be like Michael.

At church on Sundays ... I'd see performers. Even [if] it was only in front of 200 people, I wanted to be in that role.

I first sang Lady Gaga's Paparazzi ... at my sixth grade talent show. Everybody wanted me to do a Maroon 5 song or Gavin McGraw, but it's such a weird song and I wanted to do something that was an oddball choice.

My life is ... now planned to every 30 minutes. I'm really not at home much anymore. When I'm back in Oklahoma, I usually just stay home. Sometimes, I go to the shops with my mum or grab snow cones with my sister. When I have time off, I really cherish it and try to be lazy for once

.The single Hold On 'til the Night is ... a very meaningful song to me. When I was in the studio writing it, I was having a terrible day. I wanted to write a song to cheer me up. I wanted it to cheer my fans up, too, as it did for me.

Unfriend You is ... not really about Facebook. It's more about unfriending someone. You're trying to get rid of somebody that broke your heart; to get them out of your life.

One time in the Philippines ... I was walking to a meet and greet and had a security blockade around me. The girls were trying to get through. Then one girl pokes her head through and just bites the living daylights out of me. It hurt really bad! I'm walking back to the dressing room and I'm like, 'Oh, sweet. She wanted a chunk of my flesh'.

During interviews ... a lot of people say to me: 'You're 14. You have all these songs about love and heartbreak. How do you really feel that?' I'm like, since I'm 14 I'm not allowed to know what love is? I feel nowadays adults put kids into that category sometimes, especially musicians. You should never let that affect you and write what you want to write about.
