What a girl wants
Launched to a phenomenal start just a season ago, the Victoria line is what the models are wearing as Victoria Beckham runs through the collection at the Four Seasons Hotel. She is in town for the Hong Kong debut of the line.
'Net-a-porter, which is my No1 retailer, had 100 per cent sell-through even before it had gone online,' Beckham says. 'They said it was unprecedented.'
The Victoria collection has a more relaxed, girlier and friendlier silhouette than her mainline label, which relies on disciplined lines. The autumn-winter range features A-line tunics, adorable 'conversational prints', woven jacquards, pleats and Peter Pan collars, which, she says, will be a signature staple of the label. Chic, fun, comfortable dresses easily transfer from day to evening. The come in a sophisticated palette and shapes that are more refined and precise than the spring collection.
'I wanted to offer a designer collection - not a diffusion line - giving people quality and good fabrics, but at a more affordable price,' says Beckham. 'I want the Victoria line to show the other side to my personality, it's the other side to my wardrobe. It's a slightly more general fit.'
