The Reparative Body Lotion (HK$1,550/200ml) from La Mer leaves skin feeling soft and taut after a few days' use. The lotion has a creamy texture but feels light on the skin. Rub all over the body in the morning and before bed, gently kneading into the thighs and stomach. The lotion, which contains La Mer's signature broth along with algae and marine peptides, can be used to soothe and heal damaged skin, and makes for a great after-sun treatment. Available at all La Mer counters.
Aveda's Stress Fix Body Care line includes Soaking Salts (HK$420/450g), concentrate (HK$250/7ml) and body lotion (HK$350/200ml), all made with lavender and clary sage essential oils. Add two tablespoons of the salts to a bath and relax for 10 to 20 minutes. After getting out, rub a decent amount of lotion all over the body. It has a thick, runny consistency and feels like a light body oil when dry. To complete, roll the oil concentrate across your pulse points. Skin feels soft and moisturised, and smells great. Perfect for use before bed. Available at all Aveda counters.
Petitgrain Hydrating Body Gel (HK$245/120ml) from Aesop is a hydrating gel made with witch hazel, grapefruit and lemon peel oil. After a shower, rub all over the body. The gel is a little sticky on application but absorbs quickly, leaving skin hydrated without feeling heavy or greasy. A great, lightweight moisturiser for Hong Kong's sticky summer months. Available at all Aesop stores.
L'Occitane Almond Shaping Delight (HK$420/200ml) is a thick, creamy gel made with organic almonds. Apply by rubbing over thighs and stomach twice a day. Take a few minutes to massage the cream into the skin, applying pressure to problem areas. Skin is left hydrated and soft after application, and feels and looks slightly firmer after three weeks' use. Available at all L'Occitane stores and counters.
