This week we test: BB cream

Joyee Chan

This hottest foundation produces no-makeup looks with the ability to even out skin tone and cover up dark spots and other blemishes.

Maybelline Pure BB Mineral BB Base (HK$99/ 30ml)

This blends eight kinds of minerals including copper, zinc, magnesium and titanium, which can enhance skin condition and brighten up your face. It's also good value for money. But it only comes in one colour so may not be suitable for all skin tones.

Lancome UV Expert BB Complete (HK$360/ 30ml)

This BB Cream is almost feather-light. It felt as if I hadn't applied make-up at all. It left my skin radiant without an unnaturally fair appearance. It also hides patchy skin, evens out the complexion and lightens dark eye circles.

Bobbi Brown BB Cream SPF 35 PA+++ (HK$340)

Very light, absorbable and so a great choice for summer. Very similar to Mac's BB cream, it does double duty as a sunblock. Not very good on dry skin, so moisturise first if you need to.

Laneige Snow BB Cream (HK$260/ 50ml)

Creamy and easy to blend over skin, this contains hawthorn extract and liquid crystal essence, which are both said to be highly moisturising. It makes your skin look slightly whiter and brighter. It is multi-functional - moisturiser, sunscreen, concealer, brightener and anti-ageing cream all in one. You'll need to use makeup remover to take it off.

Rojukiss BB Cream (HK$195/ 50ml)

This is light and soft, not sticky or oily. It leaves skin feeling silky, and had a nice consistency. Blends easily and covers any blemishes.
