When Men's Skin Centres was launched 17 years ago it was one of the few resources for men who were interested in grooming, hair care and body shaping. Last week saw the opening of its first dedicated Men's Total Grooming Store in Central, at L Place.

The afternoon kicked off with a speech by Kenneth Katz, executive chairman of Global Beauty International, which owns the centres.

'I don't have to tell you that men are physically different from women. Men have different skin, different workout routines and different stresses,' he said. 'Men deserve grooming products tailored just for them.'

After Katz's speech it was time to bring out the special guests. TVB actor Kenneth Ma Kwok-ming took to the stage and invited up various other celebrities, such as Miss Hong Kong participant Sire Ma and Japanese model Linah Matsuoka.

The models discussed why they thought good grooming was important in a prospective mate and then revealed what they were looking for - Matsuoka wanted Johnny Depp, but taller.

They then took turns pointing what looked like a Martian ray gun at Ma's head and 'testing it'.
