Thunder from the heavens a timely drum roll for BMW's Gran Coupe

Party regulars braved a thunderstorm to attend the unveiling of BMW's new 6-Series Gran Coupe at the Happy Valley racecourse.

TVB actor couple Moses Chan Ho and Aimee Chan Yan-mei heaped praise on the sedan, saying it had both an elegant appearance and awesome horsepower - a great combination of looks and inner beauty.

As the duo were introducing the new model just before the unveiling, thunder rumbled from above, setting the stage for a dramatic moment to the ceremony.

Other guests at Friday night's party included aspiring actors Rose Chan Ka-wun and Dennis To Yue-hong, and Canto-pop singer Jonathan Wong Chee-hynn.

Although male car enthusiasts may have enjoyed the free-flowing wine and champagne, it was not such a good night for the women. Many got their shoes soaked and dresses drenched walking from the marquee to the buses ferrying them back to nearby Times Square.
