Drop back to a sprint distance proves just the right tonic

Trainer Sean Woods has flirted with a mile and even further with Brothers In Arms, but champion jockey Douglas Whyte said the decision to drop him back to sprinting has been all the difference. Brothers In Arms made it two Class Five wins on end when he added a turf win to the one he collected on the all-weather last start and he never looked like being anywhere but right in the finish. 'I think the 1,650m races stretch him - he's there then he's vulnerable late in the piece and he's got the speed for 1,200m. He got there on the lead for free today and then he really let down,' said Whyte. 'He felt even better today than when he won on the dirt with me and I would be amazed if he isn't competitive in Class Four off that.'
