Party set keen to be in two places at once

Any party organiser fears a clash of dates with another soiree across town. But when it happened on Wednesday, they need not have worried - these were events the party crowd just couldn't turn down, so they went to both.

Most of the party regulars started the evening in Wan Chai's Convention and Exhibition Centre for the launch of the Hong Kong International Art Fair, then travelled to Tsim Sha Tsui's Harbour City mall for the Alexander Wang store opening.

Being on the guest list for both events might have explained the dressy outfits at the art fair.

Wang, a New York-based fashion golden boy, made a personal appearance for the event at his 1,600 sq ft boutique, opened in partnership with Joyce Group.

The designer was ultra-friendly, posing with fans for photos. Model Angelababy Yeung Wing paid tribute by sporting Wang's signature flowing and effortless locks.

Before coming to Hong Kong, the designer was in Beijing's hip Sanlitun Village, opening his second boutique following a flagship store in New York.

It is obvious that Wang is aiming to tackle the Chinese market, as his e-commerce website also launched in Asia earlier last week.

To coincide with the Hong Kong boutique opening, his objects collection is exclusively available at the shop for the rest of the month. The collection includes novelties ranging from lighters to playing cards and bike locks.
