Jockey Club to support youth scheme for three more years
The Jockey Club has renewed its support to the Youth Football Development Programme for the next three years. The season-long programme will provide comprehensive training to young players aged between five and 18 and give them the opportunity to play in various competitions and Elite Youth Leagues organised by the Hong Kong Football Association. Fullback Tsang Kam-to, of champions Kitchee, and Sham Shui Po midfielder Lau Cheuk-hin, now a member of the Hong Kong team, are both products of the programme. 'As a youth, the opportunity afforded by this training scheme was a key to help me develop both as a player and a person,' said Tsang at yesterday's launch ceremony of the programme, which will kick off in July.
