Celebrities turn out to boost cancer charity
Some of the city's well-heeled tai tais dug deep into their wallets for a good cause on May 12 and raised over HK$600,000 for Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry .
Organised by fashion brand Bread n Butter founder Victoria Law and her socialite friends, author Emily Chan and Sandra Wan, the charity event Mother for Others at the China Club received a warm response from the celebrity circle, with more than 50 turning out.
Guests were entertained by a fashion show featuring jewellery from American brand David Yurman and shopped for fresh-off-the-runway pieces to raise money for the Registry.
Established in 2007, the charity institution aims to advance and standardise clinical care of high-risk hereditary breast and ovarian cancer patients and their families.
