Relegated Sham Shui Po will stay in the Hong Kong First Division thanks to English giants Chelsea. The senior league debutants, who feature mainly promising youngsters, finished at the bottom of the table. However, the Hong Kong FA has given Sham Shui Po a reprieve after Chelsea Football School in Hong Kong agreed to join forces with Sham Shui Po to form a joint team next season. Sham Shui Po coach Lee Chi-kin has repeatedly appealed for a platform for his young players to showcase their skills. Sham Shui Po have produced several prospects such as Lau Cheuk-hin, Fong Pak-lun and Chan Siu-ki, who have been recruited into the national squad. 'We are happy to give Sham Shui Po another chance in the top flight,' said Ben Lam Charm-bun of Chelsea Football School.
