It's been a long time between drinks for troubled seven-year-old
Andreas Schutz finally got Istide back into the winner's enclosure after two years without success, but the trainer believes the seven-year-old's back problems will continue to limit his performances. Istide fought back under a nice ride from Keith Yeung Ming-lun to beat Champion Mount in a Class Four over 1,600m, the horse's first win since May 23, 2010. 'He has had consistent issues with his back, we gave him a break, and had it treated and obviously that helped a fair bit,' Schutz said. 'The back problem is going to be an ongoing thing, it has been for years. We had to have injections put in it. The ground was a little bit softer and that helped, too, as did an outside gate because he had time to get into a nice position.'
