French film adds flair to Jan Logan's latest jewellery collection

Australian jeweller Jan Logan's designs have always had links to cinema - especially after the founder's son, Angus, who has a strong background in film, joined the company.

Angus Logan is a keen supporter of the Australian Film Institute Awards. He promotes the local movie industry by hiring up-and-coming actors such as The Great Gatsby star Elizabeth Debicki for global campaigns.

Now, the young Logan is in town this week to promote a collection inspired by the 2001 French romantic comedy Amelie, starring Audrey Tautou.

'It's whimsical, it's fun and Audrey has always been a great muse for us,' said Logan, who saw the film at least three times.

The collection, which draws from the film's kaleidoscopic fantasy world, features gemstone cocktail rings in bold colours, knot pendants with South Sea pearls and reddish gold diamond bracelets.

Guests had candy-coloured macaroons and TWG tea at Thursday's launch at the Jan Logan boutique in IFC mall.
