Chartis Cup call-up brings old foes on to the pitch
Hong Kong scrumhalf Peter McKee is looking forward to renewing his acquaintance with Saracens counterpart Richard Wigglesworth on the pitch after being called up by the BGC APBs, formerly known as the Asian Pacific Barbarians, for the Chartis Cup at Hong Kong Stadium on Saturday.
'It will be a bit weird meeting him [Wigglesworth] after all these years. I used to play against him and a few others who played for Saracens 'A' before I came to Hong Kong six, seven years ago. It will be cool to come up against them again,' McKee said.
While Wigglesworth has gone on to represent England - he has been overlooked for the current tour to South Africa - McKee has settled for representing Hong Kong. He started twice in this season's HSBC Asian Five Nation Top Five competition.
The APBs have been boosted by the last-minute inclusion of Premiership champions Harlequins' Nick Easter. The former England No 8 joins an awesome group of back-row specialists that already include All Blacks icon Jerry Collins, Samoa's Henry Tuilagi, Japan legend Takuro Miuchi and 100-cap Wales hero Martyn Williams.
