Mizuki Nishiyama, 13, Canadian International School

It was a bright, sunny afternoon, and my whole family decided to go for a hike in the mountains. Suddenly, there was a mist of green smoke. It turned out to be poison! In my craziest-ever dream, I was holding my breath. But I could feel that I was also holding my breath in real life - in my sleep. So I was actually suffocating while dreaming about being suffocated! Thankfully, I woke up before anything bad could happen.

Minnie Yip Ming-yuen, 14, Diocesan Girls' School

I had this dream when I was nine years old after going to Disneyland. My sister and I were trapped by three ugly, bald witches in the backstage area of my primary school hall. We wanted to pee but we had to complete tasks before we were allowed to. The tasks included swallowing the poisonous apple from Snow White and fitting into the crystal heels from Cinderella. I woke up with a start.

Martin Chow, 18, Hang Seng School of Commerce

It was twilight and I was running through a forest. When I looked back, a wasp the size of an eagle with a bright red needle was chasing me! It was closing on me when, suddenly, I fell into a hole in the ground. It was so deep that the fall seemed endless. Then I woke up, sweating freely.

Doris Lam, 15, St Margaret's Co-educational English Secondary and Primary school

In the dream, I was standing next to my sleeping self. I watched myself waking up and going to school. I was standing next to myself for the whole day, but I was invisible. It was scary how I kept trying to talk to people but no-one saw me. I learned something from that dream - that I had to clean my bedroom!

Elise Choi Ho-yee, 18, Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic School (Secondary Section)

It was my birthday, and my father gave me his car keys. He told me that he didn't need the car anymore. I was so thrilled that I got in the car, and drove off right away. Being all alone, I drove like a crazy person over mountain roads. Suddenly, I came to the edge of a cliff, but the brakes didn't work. So I went over. Luckily I woke up before I 'died'.

Zareen Chiba, 18, Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong

When I was younger, I had this same dream many times. I would be kayaking around Sai Kung, and then the river would turn into a series of waterfalls. After falling hundreds of metres, I would remember it was a dream, gain control, and dive into the river. I would find schools of koi fish in the water, and breathe underwater. The river took me to deserts, savannahs and marshes.

Thichachon Jaipakdee, 17, St Paul's Convent School

I woke up in the middle of a street in Causeway Bay - across the road from Sogo. I got up, and realised that everything had stopped. There was no-one around. It was just me, all alone. It was crazy.

Yasmin Subba, 16, Sha Tin College

I found myself in a dark corridor with a staircase leading up to the next floor. Suddenly, a dementor (a creature from Harry Potter that sucks out people's souls) burst out of the shadows, so I fled up the steps. I found myself in a dark corridor with more stairs. Then another dementor appeared, so I fled up the steps again. Yes, it was one of those horrible repetitive nightmares! I was so relieved when I woke up.
