Altaya wine importers will hold a 'passion for pinot' tasting and dinner on Saturday at the W Hotel in Kowloon. The event - led by master of wine Debra Meiburg with guests from wineries that include Domaine Faiveley, Domaine Vincent Girardin and Mahi - costs HK$1,080. The tasting of 12 pinot noirs will be followed by an eight-course Chinese dinner. Dishes of wok-fried Australian MB8 wagyu beef and crispy garlic and oyster, and foie gras with ginger and onion will be paired with pinot noirs from estates that include Churton and Gladstone vineyards. Plaza Mayor Wining and Dining Workshop in Wan Chai will have a wine dinner on Tuesday. The five-course dinner is HK$488 and includes Iberico and prawn skewers with Gloria Mayor 2006 DO Ribera del Duero; and dessert of strawberries with chocolate cream with Elixir de Cuba Legendario rum. Also on Tuesday is a dinner hosted by Stefano Mangiarotti from Tenimenti Angelini in Tuscany at the Lobster Bar at the Island Shangri-La in Admiralty. The Studio by CulinArt in Aberdeen will have a pop-up dinner on Wednesday featuring the Thai cuisine of chef Kittiya Fuangfoo. Guests will be served dishes of thinly sliced grilled pork neck with Thai herbs, fresh vegetables and sticky rice spring roll; and green chicken curry with chayote. HK$580. Black n White Dessert Cafe in Tai Kok Tsui will hold a series of chocolate workshops over the next two months. The theme of the workshops on June 19 and July 31 is dark chocolate truffles; on July 3, marshmallow lollipops (left); and on July 17, liqueur chocolates. The classes are HK$350 each. The DiVino Group is celebrating the best of Italian regional cuisine with a promotion until June 30.
