Search for man after boat capsizes off Sunny Bay

A search was continuing last night off Sunny Bay, Lantau, for a man tossed into the sea when his sampan capsized at 3pm. A woman fishing with him was rescued uninjured by a passing boat, but the man, who had been holding onto a bucket, had drifted away. Separately, police found the body of a woman, 58, reported missing on Saturday when she failed to return from collecting clams at Tung Chung.

Drink-driving arrest after three-car crash

A 29-year-old man was arrested after failing a breath test following a crash at 1.30am yesterday involving his car and two taxis in which all three drivers were injured. The man's car hit a taxi and flipped over at the corner of Granville Road and Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, and the taxi then hit another taxi.

Call to outlaw abuse of the elderly

A law should be enacted to outlaw abuse of the elderly, given a steady rise of cases of mistreatment of pensioners, the concern group Against Elderly Abuse said.
