Dragon-themed Tissot draws a crowd at opening of brand's flagship store

Guests arriving for the opening of Swiss watchmaker Tissot's new flagship store in Tsim Sha Tsui on Wednesday had to wait outside amid the flowers sent by well-wishers, so packed was the shop with reporters and cameramen.

Canto-pop singers Chau Pak-ho and Elanne Kong Yeuk-lam, and South Korean model Choi Ho-jin were invited to the shop, in Carnarvon Road, to model the latest watches from the T-Touch collection. Boutique owner Hilary Tsui Ho-ying unveiled the T-Touch Expert 2012 Dragon Limited Edition and shared mix-and-match tips.

The sporty black watch, adorned with a bright-red dragon - which Tsui paired with a red body-hugging one-piece - was designed by German artist Andy Maluche, who said he was the right man for the job.

'I'm a dragon myself and I have always been fascinated by them. It features a nice dragon, which fits well with the [overall design of the watch]. It's East meets West,' he said.

Maluche and Tsui performed an eye-dotting ceremony on a dragon he drew on the store's window to symbolise the launch of the watch, before joining the ribbon-cutting ceremony. After that, the guests were given a bit of space.
