Arguably the hottest gadget to land this side of the universe so far this year, the Samsung Galaxy S III strives to take you where no mobile phone has gone before.

Equipped with a super clear 4.8-inch, high-definition Super AMOLED display, a snappy 1.5GHz processor, and speedy LTE connectivity, Samsung's new offering comes with plenty of celestial stars, but that's not all.

Inside Samsung's new Galaxy are also signs of intelligent life.

The new Galaxy S III knows when you are looking at it, and won't dim the screen until it knows you're finished using it. It also knows when you've been away from it for an extended time, and will nudge you to let you know if you've had any missed calls or text messages.

It also knows if you want to call the friend you've been texting - simply hold the phone up to your ear during a texting session and it'll make the call. It even knows your friends and recognises them if you happen to be looking at their phone, and even lets you know their social network status.

And what the Galaxy S III doesn't know already, you can speak to it, and tell it to set the alarm, answer a call without your touching it, wake up or take a photo. It's also smart enough to do two things, like conducting a text session and playing back a video, at the same time.

All that comes in super-slick packaging for HK$5,598.

Pros: sleek design, big clear display, fast processor, LTE, lots of smart applications

Cons: might be slightly too large for the average pocket
