On government's plan to build flats that could house 100,000 more people in Tung Chung:

Yi Long - There are always possibilities for more transport links and the [main] road is still usually empty. You can add a few more boats and buses if needed. The only problem I see is how it might affect the beautiful environment of Lantau, so it kind of depends on where exactly the flats will be built - in Tung Chung, or next to Tung Chung. Though I do feel there are lots of opportunities there.

Patrick Shu Wing-lee - If the new government headquarters and Legco building had been located in Tung Chung instead of Tamar, it would have improved the transport links, recreation facilities and job opportunities there. Remember when the Immigration Department occupied a building in Tsim Sha Tsui East, the district was more prosperous with more crowds and traffic. The government really needs to have better planning.

Sam Ho - The residents won't care as long as they have affordable housing. Even without recreational facilities the new houses would be heaven compared with partitioned flats in Kowloon.

Cyril Couster - Build the facilities, and increase transport links. It does not seem to me like the roads or MTR are full yet.

On more Hong Kong students being unable to write even basic Chinese characters:

Cecilie Gamst Berg - They can't write because they never write! And it's exactly online 'education' that's the problem. They type in the characters in the Roman alphabet and click on the word that comes up, often clicking on the wrong word but with the same pronunciation - in Putonghua. Only writing and writing with an actual pen/brush will solve it.

Jessie Tong - Encourage book reading and take some attention away from TV programmes and computer games.
