In a photo on the web, two sharks are shown swimming around the ground floor of a popular mall and science centre in Kuwait after their tank broke ... Well, in Photoshop they did, anyway. After the photo began circulating online, its originator Jamie King admitted on Twitter it was a hoax. He digitally altered a photo of the recent flooding at the Union Train Station in Toronto and added in the sharks.

Magic Piano

Last week, video game developer Smule released its popular iPhone/iPad music game Magic Piano for Android phones. Downloads have already been racking up, landing the game on the front page of the Google Play Store.

Players can choose between two modes: Play or Solo. In Play mode, users can download and tap along to the notes displayed on the phone of more than 200 hits - by artists from Lady Gaga to Bruno Mars. Players can control rhythm and tempo by matching the taps of their fingertips to the notes.

Solo mode lets players create their own tunes on either a traditional keyboard or an otherworldly light-beam piano formed by a colourful swirl.

The game has more than 14 million users who have played an astonishing 135 billion notes on the iPad and iPhone app.

Reddit user 'Lycrius' claims to have played a single game, Civilization II, for nearly 10 years. The classic world-ruling strategy game allows players to choose a civilisation and build it up to be the last one remaining on the planet.

In Lycrius' decade-long game, it's 3991 AD and 90 per cent of the world's population is dead after a nuclear fallout and famine. Ice caps have melted and lands are no longer usable for farming. The only habitable lands left are mountaintops. Only three civilisations are left: the Celts, Vikings and Americans.

Lycrius says he has been playing for so long because he wanted to see just how far into the future he could get and see what happens then.

The Reddit community has given him countless suggestions about how to restore his world's former glory.
