Dyrk Burcie, aged four, from Dallas, Texas, is battling terminal cancer. The local fire department, where his father works, wanted to cheer him up and support the family, so they took a photo of them spelling out Dyrk's name. Other state firemen sent in their pictures, too, with the message 'Dyrk Strong'.

The family posted the photos and soon tributes, all with the same message, were coming from across the country, including one from the pop duo, LMFAO.

If you would like to see more of the photos or would like to contribute, search for Fundraiser for Dyrk Burcie on Facebook.

Flipboard on Android

As the Android smartphone operating system has become more popular, many apps and games are now being developed for it.

Flipboard, which Apple named as one of its favourite apps in 2010, is the latest to come on board. The app compiles information and stories from websites, tweets, photos and audio files neatly in a magazine-type format.

Users can flip through with a flick of their fingertips, as if reading a real magazine. It incorporates a wide range of sites - Facebook and Twitter, blogs on Tumblr and photo sites such as Flickr. Android's Flipboard version also has two new integrations with Google+ and YouTube.

It's available free at the Google Play Store, http://flipboard.com

A junk e-mail... address

Have you noticed that your e-mail address on your Facebook profile has mystically changed into a Facebook e-mail without warning? Well, you know who the culprit is. The social-media company has been slowly implementing the change since April to 'make [e-mail addresses] consistent across the site', a spokesperson says.

If you're like us here at Young Post and prefer not to be told by Facebook which e-mail address we should be contacted at, then changing it is a piece of cake. Go to your profile page and click 'About'. Scroll down to 'Contact Info', press edit, and choose which e-mail address you would not like shown on your Timeline by crossing it out.
