Show and tell
Some of Franco Dragone's best-known works were produced for Cirque Du Soleil from 1985 to 1998. He then set up his own entertainment company. Here are some highlights from his career:
Nouvelle Experience (1990): Dragone removed the curtain for Cirque du Soleil's new show, symbolically inviting the audience into the show.
Saltimbanco (1992): the Cirque's longest-running show (left) will play at Hong Kong's AsiaWorld-Arena from July 12-22. The company describes it as 'an abundance of joyful and colourful acrobatics in a metropolis'.
Mystere (1993): Dragone's first foray into Las Vegas also marked a Cirque show being granted permanent residence at a venue.
O (1998): Dragone's final Vegas show for the Cirque is this spectacular water-themed production.
A New Day (2000): Dragone's company created this Celine Dion showcase which grossed a staggering US$400 million.
The House of Dancing Water (2009): Dragone brought his unique brand of theatricality to Macau in this extravaganza costing HK$2 billion.
