Needy children will soon be getting a summer gift after local charity Kids4Kids collected 26,436 pieces of stationery for them in just seven days. Last year, the student-led charity collected 50,000 books for underprivileged children.
The event, 'Sharing for a Cause - Doing Good, Feeling Good', was held between April 23 and 30. Supporting charity Crossroads Foundation helped to sort and redistribute the supplies.
Lok Sin Tong Leung Wong Wai Fong Memorial School in Tuen Mun will benefit from the donations.
'Some [of our] students encountering financial difficulties will greatly benefit from these school supplies,' said Sonnia Cheung, a teacher at the school.
'More importantly, kids can learn the spirit of 'giving and sharing' through receiving the donations.'
