The goods

Olympic picks

Thomas Pink is getting into the Olympic spirit with sleek sporty cufflinks. Made of sterling silver, the cufflinks (HK$2,000 a pair), which come with either a cyclist or runner pattern, feature the Thomas Pink logo stamped on the stem. Thomas Pink is in Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2155 9021.

Air raising

Trainer freaks are still working themselves into a frenzy over Kanye West's limited-edition Nike Air Yeezy II, a pair of which reportedly sold for US$93,000 on eBay. Something definitely cheaper but still likely to elicit envy is the Nike Air Force 1 Low Year of the Dragon (left; HK$1,699), which has nice dragon detailing and an arresting colour scheme. For something less conspicuous, there's the Air Woven (below; HK$1,099) in white and red textile patterning. Nike is in Sogo, 555 Hennessy Road, Causeway Bay, tel: 2895 5668.

Keep it simple

French designer Jean Touitou, founder of hip label A.P.C., has perfected the art of keeping things simple. Known for its excellent denim, A.P.C.'s core strengths of quality materials and attention to detail is prevalent throughout the label's collections, as can be seen in the short-sleeve checked shirt (below; HK$1,599) and the long-sleeve striped shirt with djellaba neckline (left; HK$1,599). A.P.C. is at 24 Wyndham Street, Central, tel: 2537 6993.

Men in black

There are two things Belgium does really well: chocolate and fashion designers. To the list of fashion illuminati, which includes Dries van Noten, Raf Simons, Olivier Theyskens and Martin Margiela, we can now add Kris Van Assche, who's come into his own with a new collection for his eponymous label. Key pieces such as the black hat (left; HK$3,290) and Linda Farrow x Kris Van Assche sunglasses (left and far left; HK$4,950 a pair) dominate the spring-summer collection. Black features prominently, as can be seen on the short-sleeve top (HK$3,200), cropped trousers (HK$5,890) and boots (all far left; HK$6,800), and tailored blazer (HK$11,490), which is another highlight and goes well with the black and grey striped shirt (both left; HK$2,390). Kris Van Assche is available at Harvey Nichols, The Landmark, Central, tel: 3695 3389.
