This week: facial scrubs (over HK$200)

Joyee Chan

Scrub off dead skin - and the worries of the day - to keep your face fresh and glowing this summer.

Apivita Face Exfoliating Gel Gentle Cleansing With Apricot & Honey (HK$200/ 75ml)

A little goes a long way. Apricot and jojoba seeds gently scrub away the yuckies in the skin without being too rough, while honey nourishes. Its naturally fruity fragrance is a delight.

L'Occitane Angelica Exfoliating Gel (HK$230/75ml)

This feels a bit gummy on the skin - not what you would expect at all from an exfoliant. The heavy work is done by micro beads which are really gentle in nature.

Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Fresh Balancing Exfoliator (HK$250/75ml)

The exfoliating particles are intensive yet delicate, so dead skin and dirt are removed, leaving skin soft, but you won't get scratched. It does what it promises - leaves you perfectly clean!

Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub (HK$368/75ml)

There's no artificial fragrance or colour here, which suggests it would be good for sensitive skin. But the Corn Cob Meal, which acts as exfoliant is fairly coarse. Strange.

Aveda Tourmaline Charged Radiant Skin Refiner (HK$500/100ml)

The scrubbing granules are sharp enough to feel prickly - not a pleasant experience. But the scrub leaves your face clean and refreshed afterwards. There's not much fragrance, so it feels very pure.
