The benefit of a run has never been in doubt and Willie Pike took all the improvement he needed to win on Deep Thinker for Ricky Yiu Poon-fai after being narrowly beaten on him last start. Super Caga nudged out Deep Thinker last time after Deep Thinker had sprinted quickly to him and looked all over a winner, but a better draw and that experience and Pike was able to turn the tables. 'He's got a good kick but it's only short. Last time I threw everything at him and he sprinted up a bit too quick and he was at the end of it. Having had the ride on him last time, I knew all about him today and I just took a little more time getting there,' Pike said. 'The lower draw helped, too, because I was able to make the decisions about where I wanted to be in the run.'
