Canto-pop star Fiona Sit Hoi-kei may have just finished two concerts over the weekend, but amid her tiring rehearsals, the 30-year-old still found time to slide into Hunter's latest Union Jack-print Wellington boots last Thursday.

'In the past, wellies were only worn on rainy days. Now they're more of a fashion item - and can easily be paired with skinny jeans or leggings for a chic look,' said Sit at Langham Place in Mong Kok.

Sit showed some leg by pairing her boots with denim shorts, insisting that the boots have gained a practical function for her. 'My legs are bruised from all the dancing practice, so the boots are handy for covering them up,' she said.

Hip and historic, the 156-year-old Edinburgh-based Wellington boot producer also invited mums and dads to hit the catwalk with their children. Among them were Canto-pop singer Louis Cheung Kai-chung and his son James. While some younger children freaked out and cried their way back backstage, a big-smiling James rocked it and stole the limelight - even his father's - although he was a bit shy. Shows promise for a first timer, though.
