A month filming in Hungary proves a thrilling experience for 'bad ass' Josie Ho
Singer-actress Josie Ho Chiu-yee had just finished a month-long film shoot in Hungary for a thriller titled Open Grave when she hopped back to Hong Kong to model bags from Coach's latest Legacy collection at its Queen's Road Central store.
'I'm the only Asian in the movie, and I was surprised that they approached me. It turned out the Spanish director [Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego] had no idea that I'd won the best actress award at Spain's Sitges Film Festival [in 2010],' Ho said.
'It was the [American] producer Charles Roven - also producer of The Dark Knight Rises - who insisted on having me. He had seen Exiled and Dream Home and thinks I'm [good at playing] bad ass.'
Ho said Open Grave was more daunting than Dream Home, and that getting to work with and learn from so many talented people overseas was a valuable experience.
Also at the preview was TVB actress Yoyo Mung Ka-wai. She was not as lucky or globe-trotting as either Ho or her singer-actor boyfriend, Ekin Cheng Yee-kin, who flew to Vanuatu recently for a travel programme, but said she wasn't jealous of Cheng, as she heard the journey to the island was a bumpy one.
She was bitter about him having the chance to hug some turtles, though - something they'd been longing to do for some time.
