Cairnduff will oversee all of the bank's primary debt activities in the region. He will work with other teams to offer debt advisory and solutions to corporate and financial institutions. Previously head of the Financial Institutions and Covered Bond Syndicate in London, he will relocate to Hong Kong on July 30.

Wong, to be based in Beijing, has 20 years' experience in advising tier-one multinational companies and industry leaders. He was formerly managing partner of Dechert's Beijing office, and was named a leading China M&A lawyer by Chambers and Partners last year.

Sum's team, together with the law firm's litigation group, will offer their experience in shareholders' disputes, investigations by the Securities and Futures Commission and Independent Commission Against Corruption, and disputes involving intellectual property.
