Eddie Lai Wai-ming had multiple winners at a meeting for the first time since a 2010 treble, booting home a double with consecutive wins on Soldier and Real Generous, but he left the racecourse HK$60,000 lighter after a careless-riding charge in the opening event. Dennis Yip Chor-hong said Lai's positioning of Real Generous in the run was critical. 'He really used the barrier to best advantage,' Yip said. 'We've had to go back from wide barriers lately, but he made sure he was a bit closer today.' Stewards fined Lai for his ride on Easygoing in race one, while Keith Yeung Ming-lun received a HK$120,000 penalty, in lieu of four race days, for careless riding aboard Supreme Win in the last race.
