Man of the moment Riccardo Tisci's dark, sensual designs for Givenchy come straight from the heart, writes Jing Zhang.
Hello there, pup fans! Are you having a quantum summer? I definitely am. This pup just rocked Bangkok with Team YP's editors (Big E, deputy, web and copy) last week. We went to listen to what other people from all over the world had to say about you. Yep, they know ALL about you.
We went to the Wan-Ifra Young Readers conference where I sat very quietly and listened to all the speakers - then pounced on all the lovely grub during the tea breaks.
During our time off we explored Bangkok. Of course, we rode in a tuk tuk - but they still won't let me drive!
We toured the Grand Palace, with copy editor Tibor acting as my personal bodyguard-cum-photographer. Like all great stars, I have 'people', you see. Some to groom me, some to organise my trips and some to help me pose.
Web editor Leon thought I'd look good on a lotus leaf, but I guess I must have been eating too much because I kinda sank. Oops, let's keep that quiet in case Susan wants to give me a bath. Again.
Then Tibor took us down Khao San Road. Oh my dog! I thought my nose would explode with all the great smells. Leon and I shared a pad Thai and a coke popsicle, Susan and I shared some rose apple ... it was all food, all the time.
There was loads to buy, too - even teeny guitars, just the right size for me. But Susan said I couldn't play, not having fingers and all. She has a point.
Leon and I went out to do some 'boys' stuff, like shooting and boxing. He's a pretty good shot, BTW. I'm staying on his good side.
Then Karly and I did some relaxing stuff, including a spa day. Aaaahhhh spaaaaa. We went to the Hyatt, and were pampered amidst low lighting, jasmine scents, and soothing melodies.
It takes a lot to keep me looking this fly. I usually cut out the YOU page during term time, and study it. I can do a mean bunny hop, and I've perfected the downward dog. (In fact, I spend a lot of time 'downward' - having a snooze.) I'm also learning the importance of fur care; when Joyee is out of the office, I raid the cosmetics cupboard where she keeps all the products for testing for Sunday Young Post. Once, I tried Veet cream - I thought it was for 'hair' and didn't see the 'removal' bit. Oops! Bald paws for weeks! Good thing gloves were in that season.
The more I learn about it, the more I could get used to pampering - I left that spa so chilled, smelling like I'd just stepped out of a Porsche!
Anyway, what's new with you guys? I know that loads of you will be getting your results today. Fingers and paws crossed, eh!
Well, I gotta bounce. See you next week, my friends!
