DON'T give up on Wong Tang-ping's Men's Pride, a creditable runner-up to all-the-way winner, Precious Delights, in last night's second event.

Men's Pride was caught wide on the first bend and then hung out wide rounding the home turn.

In the circumstances it was a brave effort to battle on and comfortably account for third-placed Super Bingo II with the 1,400-metre trip looking distinctly on the short side for Men's Pride.

He is crying out for a step up to a mile and a return to grass.

Either one, but preferably a combination of the two should see him return to his winning ways as his work has indicated that he's continued to improve from the good form he showed at the end of last season.

A waiting policy is now the key to the Derek Cruz-trained Classic Turbo.

The grey won the opening event only to be relegated to third for hampering favourite Star Of Marble on the far rail inside the final 200 metres.
