Flower girls

Prabal Gurung has used digitised floral prints in violet and plum to create a vivid collection for summer. The Nepalese-American also enlisted belt and corset specialist Zana Bayne to design leather harnesses that would complement the range. Our picks are the floral-print handkerchief dress (below right; HK$11,760, harness HK$4,130) and the refined wool-silk trousers (below; HK$10,360). Prabal Gurung is available at Lane Crawford, Times Square, Causeway Bay, tel: 2118 3638.

The 50s show

Calvin Klein Underwear has gone dotty with a new 1950s-inspired line. The black-and-white polka-dot pattern is available in lingerie separates (above HK$420 and below HK$320) but if you're going to revisit the era of Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe, summon your inner pin-up in a chemise (right; HK$520). Calvin Klein Underwear is at 18 Wellington Street, Central, tel: 2526 8113.

Shell game

Michelle Lai of Mischa often uses vintage Japanese obis and kimonos as inspiration, but this time it's the interlocking hexagonal print of her travel range that has proved a big hit. The pattern is a stylised representation of a tortoise's shell, meant to symbolise longevity. Both the clutch (below; HK$450) and overnight bag (left; HK$1,650) are made from weather-proofed canvas and come with a hand-stitched leather zip. Mischa is available at Indigo, 32A Staunton Street, Central, tel: 2147 3000.

Cool Rags

New York-based Rag & Bone has some great summer skirts on offer. See the asymmetrical two-toned skirt (below right; HK$5,000) or get in on the pleated maxi skirt trend with a silk and chiffon version (below; HK$5,500). Rag & Bone is available at Lane Crawford.
