Alvin Goh's artistic touch pays off as exhibition returns
You know you are doing a show right if there's a second run due to popular demand. So it looks as if Alvin Goh could easily start a second career as an exhibition curator.
The Hong Kong-based Singaporean make-up artist worked with Japanese cosmetics brand Cle de Peau Beaute for an art exhibition titled L'Art de la Radiance to celebrate the brand's 30th anniversary.
The exhibition first opened in April at Quarry Bay's ArtisTree and travelled to Taiwan last month. Last week, it returned to Hong Kong and will be showcased at The Space gallery in Sheung Wan until Sunday.
The exhibition features 20 art works Goh produced in collaboration with 15 painters, poets, designers and photographers from 11 countries under the theme 'radiance of beauty'.
It also includes a lighting installation created by Japanese artist Makoto Tojiki.
The celebrity pack who turned up at the opening cocktail was surprised to find a new art work created by Goh for the exhibition - a structural installation in the shape of a dress reflecting light from different angles.
Goh said the piece was inspired by Cle de Peau Beaute's illuminating facial powder.
