Figs are an ancient fruit that has been enjoyed for thousands of years. They were particularly popular among the ancient Romans.

They have a sweet, honeyed flavour, slightly fudgy flesh and are full of crunchy seeds. Whether fresh or dried, they make great desserts, but are also an excellent addition to many savoury dishes.
