Josephine Chan, managing director - SCMP Magazines, SCMP Group
Chan will oversee all business operations for SCMP Hearst Publications, SCMP Hearst Hong Kong and SCMP Magazines Publishing (HK), all business entities under the SCMP Group. Chan has over 20 years' industry experience and extensive knowledge of the local women's magazine market. Elsie Cheung, the SCMP Group's COO, says: '[Chan] is arguably Hong Kong's most experienced and knowledgeable leader in women's magazines today.'
Mark Newman, CEO - ING Commercial Banking Asia, ING Bank
Newman will be responsible for ING Bank's strategy and performance across 14 markets in Asia, reporting to Diederik van Wassenaer, global head of clients and network at ING Commercial Banking. Newman worked in internal audit and risk management at ING London (then Barings) before moving to Asia 15 years ago. '[Newman's] wealth of experience in Asia and his solid understanding of commercial-banking business operations will serve him well in his new role,' says van Wassenaer.
Phebe Chan, assistant vice-president - communications and marketing, investment funds, Manulife (International)
Chan's main responsibility involves formulating strategies for investment-funds marketing and investment communication for Manulife's wealth-management products, investment-linked products and MPF funds in Hong Kong. She has extensive experience in the manufacturing and distribution of mutual funds. She holds a degree in marketing and is a CFA charterholder and CFPCM certificate-holder.
Cliff Li, assistant vice-president - legal counsel, Manulife (International)
Li is now part of the company's legal and compliance team in charge of legal and compliance issues for Hong Kong operations. He joined the Manulife regional counsel's office in 1995 and has worked in various roles supporting regional territories and the Hong Kong office on legal and compliance matters. Prior to joining Manulife, Li was a practising solicitor. He holds a bachelor of laws degree and a postgraduate certificate in laws from the University of Hong Kong.
