Sun shines on the Olympics

LONDON - The rain stopped at last, and spectators have enjoyed the first events of the 2012 Olympic Games. The first match was women's football, and other events have included swimming, diving, cycling and rowing.

The Games were opened on Friday by a three-hour spectacular at the Olympic Stadium. The show included music, dancing, parachute jumps and fireworks. It was directed by Danny Boyle, who is famous for his film 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
