Thrill to sounds of silence

IS IT a cry without voice? Is it a silent revolution? Is it a peaceful protest? Is it a love announcement? It is voiceless even if you have not covered your ears. Feelings are expressed through the white paint on the mime artiste's face and his body movement.

You, as an audience, have to use your eyes to read and your heart to sense the messages delivered by the artiste.

Every Friday night from nine to 10.30 next month, the Hong Kong Arts Centre will present the 'All for Mime and Mime for All!' series.

Wong Kwok-chung and Joe Chan, two experienced artistes, will present a variety of shows comprising clown, mime, mask and action art.

Nescafe Showtime is staged every Friday night at the park outside the Arts Centre.

This 39-week outdoor programme provides a platform for local performers.

PROGRAMME January 6 - The Red Nose You Like (Clown); January 13 - Tonight, I Don't Wanna Speak . . . (Mime); January 20 - Face To Face (Mask), and January 27 - Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down (Action Art)
