A MAN claiming to be a private detective and debt collector was arrested when he tried to collect a fake police warrant card from a photo company in Mei Foo Sun Chuen yesterday, police said.

The 35-year-old man allegedly told detectives he needed the fake to 'facilitate his job'.

The man was said to have approached the photo company in Mount Stirling Mall on Monday and handed over a card with a police emblem on it, plus a photograph of himself.

He asked staff for a card similar to a police warrant card, claiming his own had been cut up by his wife during a dispute, he was afraid to report the loss and wanted a false one for now.
