A forest of recycled green

Design students from Polytechnic University turned the lobby of Tsuen Wan Nina Tower into a fantasy forest. Their reason: to bring attention to this year's Chinachem Charity Walk.

As one of their tasks, they used recycled materials to make a giant artificial tree. The canopy of the tree is made up of many green hollow spheres. They were made by the 10 students out of leftover cloth. Each sphere represents children's wishes for Hong Kong's environment.

'We hope to raise parents' and children's awareness of the environment,' said Karma Wong Ka-yin, a design student at PolyU.

The Chinachem Charity Walk 2012 will take place on November 4.
