The annual Hennessy Artistry concert taking place this year at Kitec in Kowloon Bay on Friday night features a roster of up-and-coming local acts.

Alex Lam Tak-shun, son of Canto-pop veteran George Lam Chi-cheung, is one of the featured artists. The 27-year-old singer returned from the US two years ago.

'I want to realise my dreams before it's too late,' he said, explaining his move back to Hong Kong. 'Although I'm still new to the music scene, I'm old enough to know what I want to accomplish.'

He learned a trick from Alan Po Chi-lun, who fronts rock band Mr, on nailing a live performance. 'He said it's important to be relaxed, and a little bit of cognac wouldn't do any harm.'

Lam will be performing with girl group Robynn and Kendy, who before signing to Universal Music in January uploaded cover songs on to YouTube, which went viral. The duo, Robynn Yip and Kendy Suen, have a dedicated cult following.

Mr, A-Lin Wong and DJ Antwone are also booked to perform. For tickets and other information, call 29761222.
