BIM project managers, modellers and engineers

With the advantages of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the construction industry increasingly being recognised, leading consultant InteliBuild is expanding its local workforce in response to growing demand for its services.

'We are extremely busy in Hong Kong. We have five vacancies at the moment due to ongoing workload,' says Ronan Collins, managing director of InteliBuild, which was acquired by the Canam Group two years ago.

Project managers, engineers and BIM modellers can now join the internationally recognised multinational company and sharpen their skills in this fast-developing field.

InteliBuild is looking for BIM project managers with at least three to five years' relevant work experience who can execute 3-D BIM model reviews and clash analysis, and provide training and guidance on BIM management to BIM engineers and modellers.

Communication and interpersonal skills are of paramount importance, as project managers will have to liaise with a wide range of internal and external customers to ensure that BIM project requirements are delivered on time and within budget.

For the position of BIM engineer, candidates with a degree in engineering and two to three years' work experience can apply, including experience in 3-D BMI modelling, clash analysis and engineering reviews.

BIM modellers should have one to two years' work experience in building construction through working for a design firm or contractor, and a relevant higher diploma or certificate.

New hires will have to help maintain the company's reputation by delivering projects on time, maintaining high standards and producing excellent quality. They must also uphold other values including integrity, efficiency, safety, open communication and mutual trust.

'Our customers come first and we work hard to deliver top-class solutions,' says Collins.

Language requirements include good English as senior staff need to be able to communicate well with staff in offices worldwide. 'Our clients in Hong Kong and mainland China expect our team to be able to engage with them in their native language,' Collins says.

The company provides training for project management and implementing BIM modelling and processes. There are generous holiday allowances and education and training grants, as well as medical insurance, bonuses based on performance, and opportunities to travel.
