The US country singer was charged with driving while intoxicated and threatening law officers after he crashed his car and was found naked and combative at the scene. The 53-year-old's car veered off a road about 100 kilometres north of Dallas and struck several barricades in a construction zone. It was second time this year Travis had been arrested for being drunk.

Sheldon Adelson

The chief executive of Las Vegas Sands filed a US$60 million defamation lawsuit in New York against the Jewish Democratic Council, accusing the political group of spreading false allegations that he approved prostitution at his Macau resorts. It was also reported Adelson was the target of a federal investigation into possible violations of US anti-money-laundering laws.
