Stars pop message in their videos

JACKY Cheung and Leon Lai, let's face it, carry more weight in this town than just about anyone, excluding Emily Lau.


So when they give the nod to putting their faces to a series of public awareness campaigns, we're talking impact.


The stars have said they are all for taking part in a series of videos which will range from the perils of substance abuse to AIDS.


Their support follows that of US rocker Jon Bon Jovi, who has already recorded two messages for the PolyGram campaign earlier this month.


PolyGram regional marketing manager Robbie Dennis said he sent a script off to Bon Jovi's management for them to consider, and offering them the chance to change the wording if they wanted.


'The next thing we knew, we were sent a videotape featuring Jon and the original script intact.' What a guy.


The videos will be distributed to TV networks, where the company hopes they will be given air-time during commercial breaks. Sounds better than most of the commercials on TV already.
