TAIPEI-based Eva Air is to invest US$10 million to set up a representative office and cargo firm in Macau.

The Hong Kong-based China Times Business Weekly said the decision, made by the Taiwan's Economic Affairs Ministry, came recently after China and Macau accepted a call by Taiwan carriers for direct flights between Macau and Taiwan.

The new Macau International Airport is to be inaugurated in July and go operational early next year.
