A CHINESE official and economist has proposed that a China-Malaysia mutual fund be set up to facilitate investment between the two countries.

Wang Daohan, director of the association for relations across the Taiwan Straits and former Shanghai mayor, said such a fund could also be used to promote joint investment by businessmen of the two countries to third countries.

Delivering his speech on 'new era in China-Malaysia co-operation' at a session of the first Malaysia-China forum in Kuala Lumpur, Mr Wang said the fund could be used to provide consultation to those interested in investment.
