Xiamen sets cargo record

XIAMEN handled a record amount of cargo last year to make it the mainland's busiest port, the China News Service reports.

The southeastern port, China's oldest with a history of about 600 years, handled 11.4 million tonnes of cargo, up 24 per cent on 1993.
